Pantone announces the color of the year!

Want to keep your clothing line, resort line, employee uniforms and campaign materials matching what your customers find in the best fashion houses this year? Well, the Pantone Institute says Pantone 18-3941 is IT as far as the "all the rage color" this year. What the heck is that you ask...Blue Iris, a beautiful balanced blue purple. To the eye, the blue combines stable and calming attributes with mystical and spiritual qualities. Blue Iris satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world while adding a hint of mystery and excitement.

If your not a fan of Blue Iris or you simply want to know what other colors are hot to use in your apparel and ink choices there are plenty!

Golden olive, croissant, cantaloupe, and daiquiri green, spring crocus, rococco red, pink mist, freesia, snorkel blue and silver grey are the fresh colors Pantone Inc. predicts will make consumers salivate this spring.

Have fun designing!

Maggie's Organics a true corporate role model!

At Maggie's Organics their mission is to
produce and provide comfortable, durable, affordable and beautiful articles of
apparel and accessories made from materials that restore, sustain and enhance
the resources, including human, from which they are made.  After learning
about the harsh facts of conventional cotton cultivation and garment
manufacturing back in 1992, Maggie’s began to make socks, and then added
tee shirts, tights, lounge pants, and other garments out of certified Organic
fibers. Not only does Maggie’s strive to convert as many acres of land as
possible from conventional to organic farming methods, but they are also
passionate about creating an alternative to the poor working conditions and pay
in the apparel industry.  They were instrumental in the creation of The Fair
Trade Zone, a 100% worker-owned Sewing Co-Operative in Nueva Vida, Nicaragua
and the first worker-owned cooperative in the world to gain Free Trade Zone
status!

Maggie’s Organics has been selling
organic fibers for 16 years, and have long been featured at natural products’
stores nationwide, most notably Whole Foods.  They are committed to socially
responsible business practices, and have always made their socks in the
U.S.
only.  All their products are long-lasting, durable, and comfortable!

New from Maggie’s:

At Maggie’s,they understand that
economic times are tough, and that tough times call for creative
solutions.  Maggie’s has been working on a way to pass on some
fabulous discounted prices to their customers and has created a new shopping
category, “Maggie’s Outlet."  they now offer a great place
to find everyday discounts, deep discounts, and closeout blowout pricing.
American Canvas readers should check in often to see new additions and great
savings!

Maggie’s has won numerous awards,
including the 2006 Natural Products Expo East “Best New Green
Product” for its Organic Baby Bodysuit and Cap Sets and the 2005 Intercot
Recognition Award in the category of “Social Accountability” for
Maggie’s important contribution made to organic textiles and ecologically
sound textile products.

Maggie’s story offers inspiration to
budding social entrepreneurs and products that American Canvas readers can
purchase to support socially and environmentally responsible practices.

Samples of Bamboo/Organic Cotton are In!

If you are in the Central Ohio are, give us a call to set a time for me to bring by the newest samples of Eco friendly clothing.

The bamboo/organic cotton tees are AMAZING! The soft hand, attention to detail and flow of the fabric are simply the most beautiful I have seen to date!

We also have the Earth Positive samples which are 100% organic cotton produced solely with wind and solar power. Again, the attention to detail in the sewing is amazing, truly beautiful!

Have a wonderful New Year!

Happy New Year to us all!

We all have our dreams for the new year. Some of us are making , struggling with or breaking our resolutions. It's all good, as long as we stay focused on remembering to have fun each and every day, life should roll just fine.

We want to thank so many people for helping American Canvas to have such a GREAT 2nd year, 1st full year in business! We tripled what we did in our 1st year of business, made amazing friends that initially thought they were just contacting any ol' screen printer. We found new apparel partners that are doing AMAZING things for the environment and workers rights while producing the cutting edge fashions we and our clients insist on.

The new year is only 11 days old and we have had 4 new clients contact us and come on board, 3 of these clients being fashion retail line creators which of course we love!We are also busy with replenishment orders from our existing clients. It is so fun to assist in the creation and marketing of our clients dreams!

We want to thank the North Market for coming on board with our company, we are so excited to join forces with our favorite Columbus landmark who's art is consistantly created by the amazing artist, Clinton Reno! Check out his work @ Galaxyreno.com His specialty is graphics and poster printing...we are delighted to work with one of Columbus' finest!

Hopefully I won't forget anyone in my THANK YOU list you've all kept us very busy with repeat orders and referrals. We truly appreciate you all!
